Life Skills Center

Prepares adults 16 and older for the work force through GED and college/trade exam preparation, tutoring in math and reading, computer skills, English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education and citizenship classes.

GED- Prepare for GED tests with Life Skills math, reading, writing, and grammar tutors. At the Life Skills Center, tutors work one-on-one with adults studying to take the GED tests. Adults also have the option of small group studying based on subject. We offer several courses leading to full time benefitel jobs: Child Care, and office assisant Training.

ESL- English as a Second Language classes are offered to all refugees, immigrants, and non-natives to America. Speaking, reading and understanding English is apart of every day life in the United States. In addition to learning English, ESL students have the opportunity to study citizenship for the examination.

Workforce Technology Center
Our goals are to help and prepare adults to achieve and understand the basics of computers such as its hardware and software so that you can function and succeed on your first job or advance in your current one. WTC provides a public computer lab and computer courses to all beginning and advanced users. Let us help you obtain the necessary computer skills to enter and compete in today's technologically advancing society and job market. Computer classes at Life Skills are more people friendly with a new web connection.

Get and Keep a Job Assistance
This self-study course will provide the student with the tools necessary to find and keep the job that represents his/ her career interests.  The typical student is one who has a temporary job or no job at all, or who is seeking a substantial or career job.

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM                 Fee $165.00
This is a 4 week program (90 hours)


Microsoft Word  / Monday August 4, 2008
Classes are held Monday and Wednesday
From 12:30 to 2:30 PM              Fee $45.00
This is a 5 week program

Introduction to Computers / Tuesday August 5, 2008
Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday
From 1:00 to 3:00 PM                Fee $26.00
This is a 5 week program


Excel / Tuesday August 5, 2008
Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday
From 3:30 to 5:30 PM                 Fee $65.00
This is a 5 week program
